This place blew my mind. It was the first time I'd seen the interior of a new renovation townhouse on the upper west side. It was six stories tall with a roof deck and its own elevator. The staircase feels like part of a museum with the way sunlight filters down from the skylight, along with the hushed silence of no one being (besides me and my client), while photographing it. The master bathroom was enormous and had a two person walk-in shower with wall mounted nozzles, which I've loved since the very first time I tried one as a teenager. The toilet had a motion sensing Toto washlet built in that would open and light up as we walked by. It certainly spooked us a few times. The kitchen was on the ground floor, which is common in these New York brownstones / townhouses. In fact, one of the things I really liked about Frost Street was that the kitchen was on the parlor floor and not the ground level. But Frost didn't have a basement, so it's kinda the same. The kitchen leads to a yard in the back, but it was still wintery outside so we played it down in the images.
The long portrait orientation image of the bathroom was fun / challenging because it's a vertical panorama from the chandelier to the tub, and I shot it both lights on and off. I'm happy with how it came out. This was a fun project and a great way to start the year.
